Off mode

Cost per message: No AI cost

Quality: Good search, no conversation

Fallback mode

Cost per message: AI only when the rules cannot understand

Quality: Good search plus conversation where needed

Full mode

Cost per message: AI on every message

Quality: Best conversation

Off mode uses no AI at all, so there is no per-message cost. The AI modes are switched on for your account once your monthly limit has been agreed.
